Included in those funded are:

* North American Science Associates (NAMSA), Inc., located in Northwood, OH, will receive a $1.5-million loan at an interest rate of 4% for a 10-year term, and a $50,000 Business Development grant. The funds will be used for the 40,000-sf expansion of the facility's corporate headquarters and administration building, and the 10,000-sf expansion of the toxicology laboratory. NAMSA provides non-clinical testing and consultation services. The $6.7 million project is expected to create 25 jobs and retain 151.

* The Jefferson County commission will receive a $600,000 grant from the roadwork development account. The funds will be used to assist with road improvements associated with the location of Wal-Mart's 880,000-sf distribution facility being constructed nearSteubenville, OH. The $35-million project is expected to create 600 new jobs.

* Bulldog Security, Inc., located in Wintersville, OH, will receive a $750,000 Pioneer Rural Loan at an interest rate of 3% for a 15-year term. The funds will be used to purchase land and construct a 48,000-sf building. The company produces automotive accessories. The $1 million project is expected to create 80 jobs and retain 70.
