The Consultants are ECONorthwest of Eugene, Ore. and Chabin Concepts Inc. of Chico, Calif. The vast majority of the money for the effort is coming from the PDC's general fund allocation.
The consultants will report a 16-member committee, who will make recommendations to the City Council in October. Two public meetings will be held in front of the committee later this year.
The committee will have co-leaders: developer John Russell, president of Russell Development and chairman of the Mayor's Business Roundtable; and Sonal Shah, president of EZ Recruit.com and Northwest Software Inc. The rest of the members come from private companies, nonprofit organizations and government-related entities from around the region.
