Team Owner Opening Restaurant in Pepsi Center

DENVER-The theme of the 14,000-sf Blue Sky Grill is taken largely from Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche owner Stan Kroenke's sprawling Q Creek Ranch in Wyoming. The restaurant opens on land once used for team administrative offices.

DENVER-Stan Kroenke, owner of the Pepsi Center and the teams that play there, the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche, is opening the Blue Sky Grill in the sports facility next week. The 14,000-sf restaurant, modeled after a western ranch or mountainlodge, will be one of the biggest and most expensive in Denver.

The restaurant uses heavy timber from the fires at Yellowstone National Park, as well as weathered wood from snow fences from Wyoming. Columns are constructed with stone mined from a quarry in Pueblo, CO. The décor includes a large, stuffed bear. Many of the themes are taken from Kroenke’s sprawling Q Creek Ranch in Wyoming.

The restaurant on the southeast part of the stadium is being built where administrative offices once stood, as Kroenke, who lives in Missouri, thought it was ridiculous to waste prime real estate on executive offices.
