WASHINGTON, DC-The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is continuing its campaign to promote the Community Choice in Real Estate Act–proposed legislation that would prevent banking conglomerates from owning locally-owned and operated real estate companies–with the launching of its second and third wave of advertising initiatives. The ads are targeted at congressional members and are being placed in the hometown papers of their districts.

“We have more than 160 members of the House on board already,” NAR’s Linda Johnson tells GlobeSt.com. We’ve gotten tremendous support so far, even more than we anticipated.” The ad campaign started with placements in papers on Feb. 8, and the most recent round of ads took place last Friday, Feb. 15. The next wave occurs this upcoming Friday. The ads urge members to “do the right thing,” adding that the bill “HR 3424 will keep the personalized service consumers now receive from their local neighborhood real estate professionals.” Senate members have a version of the bill, S 1839.
