Rolling Acres Mall Space Goes to Market

AKRON, OH-The largest mall in northeast Ohio includes Sears, Target and Dillard's as anchors. On the market is 369,650 sf of mall space plus the 125,821-sf Dillard's. Bankers Trust Co. of New York is selling after two years of ownership.

AKRON, OH-After two years, Bankers Trust Co. of New York’s asset managers have put its share of the 1-million-sf Rolling Acres Mall up for sale. Lennar Partners, which bought the mall in January 2000 on behalf of Bankers Trust, has hired Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Co. to market the enclosed regional shopping mall.

Mark Lasman, a senior associate in the company’s Fort Lauderdale, FL office is handling the marketing effort.

Developed in 1975 by Forest City, the mall is anchored by JC Penney, Sears, Kaufmann’s, Target and Dillard’s. All of the anchor tenants own their own stores except Dillard’s. The total area offered for sale includes 369,650 sf of mall space plus the 125,821-sf Dillard’s. The mall is the largest shopping center in northeast Ohio and is located near Interstates 76 and 77.
