The company says that Burns' vast development experience in the real estate industry will be an excellent addition to its expertise in marketing, leasing and property management.
Burns' experience includes thirteen years with Sobrato Development Company as Senior Vice President for Development where he had primary responsibility for office/R&D development.
During that time, his activities included market analysis, joint venture and lease negotiations, entitlement, design, construction and financing of both build-to-suit and speculative projects, including the San Mateo Bridgepointe master planned project of 400 residential units, 480,000 square feet leased to Siebel Systems, and the 17-story office tower at 488 South Almaden in downtown San Jose.
Burns has also been involved in the refinance, rehabilitation and renovation of existing buildings. Prior to joining Sobrato, Burns was a partner with Devcon handling the development of office/R&D projects including Northport Business Park in Fremont. In addition, Burns is a past president of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the NAIOP.
