As chair of the chamber board, Bormaster will lead a 70-member board of directors and its ambitious economic development agenda focused on the recruiting new businesses, addressing regional issues as well as attracting and keeping workers.

The Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce represents 2,000 member businesses in 68 Twin Cities' metro communities and manages two area councils: the Bloomington-Airport Council and the Small Business Council.

Prior to moving to the Twin Cities in 1997, Bormaster spent three years as publisher of the Austin Business Journal in Austin, TX, where she served on the executive board of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce.
