Rezone Close for 286-Acre Mixed-Use Project

RIDGEFIELD, WA-A year after two Colorado-based companies set out to make it happen, Schuck Corp. and JRC Financial Inc. are a month away from a rezone necessary to keep their $429-million dream on track to becoming reality. The two companies from Colorado Springs, Colo., are striving to joint venture with local landowner Bob Zimmerly and develop 286-acres near Exit 14 off Interstate 5 in the City of Ridgefield. The trio has formed Pioneer Estates LLC and hired JD White Co. Inc. of Vancouver to provide planning support.

A proposed rezoning of the property, from pure industrial to mixed use, would clear the way for the joint venture’s Union Ridge project, which is to consist of several hundred thousand square feet of office space, a 38-acre industrial park, a destination shopping center, a hotel and 450 apartments and single-family homes.
