Manfred Gerling has been named vice president of development. In his new post, Gerling will lead the development division of the combined company. He previously served as the vice president of development for Red Lion Hotels and Inns where he doubled the number of Red Lion branded hotels during a two-year period.
Mark Hansen has been named development director and will be responsible for the continued development of both WestCoast and Red Lion. Hansen most recently was director of franchise sales and development for Hilton Hotels Corp. for the Red Lion Hotels and Inns brand. Hansen is based in Texas and will focus on franchise sales in the mid-western United States.
Thomas Magnuson will expand his current development responsibilities with WestCoast as development director for both the WestCoast and Red Lion brands. Magnuson served as former governor of Best Western, hotel operator and marketing company executive.
As of early afternoon Wednesday, WestCoast was trading at around $7.60. That's up from it's 52-week low of $4.90 and down slightly from its 52-week high of $8.
