City officials say a hearing date for the hotel project before the California Coastal Commission could be moved from the commission's April meeting to its June meeting.

The council this week unanimously approved spending $3.32 million to complete the purchase of property needed for the Manchester project. The money is coming from $19.5 million in a new redevelopment bond issue.

The property -- two square blocks bounded by Myers and Pacific Streets, Seagaze Drive and Pier View Way -- is being bought for a future hotel project needed by the city.
