According to a Springfield town official the center will be an expansion of an existing building and will be on three floors. The hospital has submitted preliminary plans to the Springfield Redevelopment Authority and the official tells GlobeSt.com that it will be submitting its final plans for the project shortly. The project requires approval from both the state and the city.
While the official could not confirm the estimated costs of the project, local reports put the figure at $39 million. Calls to the hospital were not returned by press time.
