The Kent buildings to be sold are located in the Boeing Kent Space and Communications Center. Much of that space, which totals roughly 800,000 sf, already was vacant. The 1.2 million-sf Auburn property still houses nearly 300 employees, who will be relocated to other buildings on site, according to a Boeing Realty spokesman.

Boeing originally said it would vacate the Auburn facilities last spring. The buildings are being marketed for sale as part of a 100-acre project called Cascade Industrial Park, which also includes 34 acres suitable for additional development. Insignia Kidder Mathews is marketing the Auburn buildings.

Boeing has unloaded about 115 million sf of property across the globe, including 60 million here in the Northwest. The company has put a number of other properties in the area up for sale in the past few years because of mergers.
