Known as the Samueli Jewish Campus, the project will include two facilities encompassing a total of 62,000 sf. The buildings, which will serve 480 middle school and high school students, will include classrooms, a library and a lab. Plans also call for a 120,000-square-foot Jewish Community Building.

The project, which is being constructed by Snyder Langston's Specialty Building Group, is rising on Stone Ridge Drive near the corner of Bonita Canyon and Newport Coast Drive. It is being built in two phases. Phase I will consist of the two middle school and high school facilities. Plans call for a single-story facility totaling 17,100 sf and a two-story building encompassing 44,900 sf. Both facilities will be constructed of architectural masonry and stucco. Scheduled for completion in August 2002, Phase I will also include courtyards, athletic fields and basketball courts.

Phase II will consist of the two-story Jewish Community Building. The new campus will include an athletic club with a gym, two swimming pools and a weight room. It will also feature a pre-school, various agency offices, a performance hall that will seat 500 people and a cafeteria that will serve the middle school and high school, as well as banquet events. The Community Building will house the Jewish Federation and its beneficiary agencies. Construction of the second phase is expected to begin once the capital campaign is complete.
