Town's Largest-Ever Residential Project Approved

RAYNHAM, MA-Rosewoods Commons, a 240-unit residential complex, has received the town's blessing. The project will be the largest residential one for this town and enables it to meet its 10% affordable housing requirement.

RAYNHAM, MA-A 240-unit residential complex to be developed here off North Main Street has been green-lighted by the town. The project, Rosewood Commons, will be the largest ever for this community located about 35 miles south of Boston.

Richard McCarthy, the town planner, tells GlobeSt.com that the developer, The Gatehouse Group Inc., has a purchase agreement for the 20.2-acre site with Frank A. Rozenas, executor of the estate of Adolf F. Rozenas. The developer had applied for a comprehensive permit for the project because 60% of the project will be affordable. The comprehensive permit allows a developer to bypass local zoning laws if there is at least a 24% affordable housing component in the project and the town has not reached its 10% affordable housing requirement.
