The library will serve the Riverside and Montopolis neighborhoods in southeast Austin. The $6-million library will include adult and youth computer facilities, public meeting rooms, education facilities and art exhibit space. It is expected to open in summer 2003.

Stanley Architects and Artisans of Austin designed the structure and Braun & Butler Construction Co., also of Austin, is the general contractor. Artist Will Larson is to design and create a combination of landscaping and limestone sculptures for the exterior, which will include a plaza.
