Part I of $35M Symphony Center Opens

BALTIMORE, MD-The $35-million Symphony Center project is now more than half completed with the recent opening of the complex's two office structure's and connecting parking garage. A 135-unit apartment building is to follow and will likely be available for occupancy by 2003.

BALTIMORE, MD-Part one of the city’s new $35-million Symphony Center project has opened following construction that began in 2000. The two Class A office buildings and a parking structure neighboring the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall are to be followed by a 135-unit apartment building that is expected to be completed by 2003.

The office buildings–which are linked to the 650-space, six-story parking garage via walkway–are both three-floor facilities and offer 120,000-sf of office space. Already, the buildings are nearly leased to capacity. Upon completion the Center will occupy six acres of land that was once home to the Baltimore Life Insurance Company.
