"Our accommodations have been at or near full capacity and our snow sports schools are breaking attendance records across North America," he adds. "The revenues reported across our resort network during the actual Games were considerably higher than last year, even though our Utah operations were below last year's levels."

Real estate sales were also on record pace during Olympic competition.

"During the Olympic coverage period, Boyne signed contracts for $16 million in real estate sales nationwide, including significant joint venture development agreements in Michigan and at Big Sky Resort in Montana," reports Stephen Kircher, president of Boyne USA's eastern operations. "Our Michigan properties, Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands, generated almost $5.1 million in sales of condominiums and home sites. These sales underscore the increasing interest in ski resort properties and real estatein general as an alternative investment to stocks and other paper assets."

Ski attendance records during the Olympic Games were shattered at Boyne's Michigan resorts and overall including Boyne's western ski properties. Collectively, Boyne resorts hosted almost 275,000 skiers and snowboarders on their slopes and trails during the Olympic Games. A new one-day record total of over 28,000 skiers were hosted by Boyne properties Feb. 16.

On that day, Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands in Michigan recorded 11,112 skiers and snowboarders, the third best total ever for a single day at those resorts.

Boyne's Big Sky Resort in Montana established its single-day record as well on Feb. 16, with 5,241 skiers and snowboarders.

Boyne's Olympic hopes continue well beyond the recent Salt Lake City Games. Vancouver, British Columbia, home to Boyne's newest resort addition, Cypress Mountain, is bidding to host the 2010 Games. Cypress Mountain, located just outside Vancouver, anticipates hosting several events if that bid is successful.
