The properties total 396,000 sf and include the Forge Retail Park in Glasgow, sold for £44.5 million ($63 million), where Grantchester will retain ownership of the Big W and B&Q stores totalling 178,000 sf. Also included in the sale are the Central and Rooksley retail parks in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire which totalling 107,000 sf and were sold for £29.1 million ($41.3 million) and the 111,000-sf West Yorkshire Retail Park in Leeds which was sold for £47.8 million($67.9 million).
Strutt & Parker acted for Grantchester and Healey and Baker and Morgan Williamsacted for Henderson.
Grantchester Chief Executive Tim Walton said: 'In line with our stated policy we have decided to sell into a good market whilst retaining the right to receive further surpluses. Since acquisition, we have significantly redeveloped each asset to recreate a destination retail scheme. We recognise that following the disposal we will have cash which is surplus to our requirements and are therefore exploring efficient ways of returning further capital to shareholders in due course'.
