Mayor Williams and Quadrangle Are Named Annual Trendsetters

WASHINGTON, DC-At its annual TrendLines event, Transwestern Commercial Services pronounced Washington, DC Mayor Anthony Williams and full-service commercial real estate company Quadrangle Development Corporation “Public Trendsetter of the Year” and “Private Trendsetter of the Year,” respectively. Transwestern credits the two with keeping Washington, DC on top of the real estate investment market during a year of economic downturn and challenge. Delta Associates, the research arm of Transwestern, joined in the bestowing of the awards.

As noted in previous articles on GlobeSt.com, Williams continued his career goal of providing more affordable housing and rehabilitating economically downtrodden neighborhoods in the District through a variety of city-funded programs. Quadrangle recently created its second real estate development fund, National Capital Properties Trust II, which will have $250 million in capital for acquisitions. The company develops, acquires, and manages properties and currently has more than $2 billion in total capitalization attached to various projects in the Washington Metro area.
