The additions, which are being built by Santa Fe Springs-based Matt Construction, will add a total of 67,156 sf to the campus. With 2,100 students, the Catholic high school is already the largest private high school campus west of Chicago.
The new additions will consist of a 53,425-sf, two-story Academic Science facility and a 13,681-sf, two-story Student Activities building. They will be built with structural steel frames, a joint system, metal deck roof system, split-faced block and plaster walls and will involve extensive site concrete work with inlaid pavers. The new structures will house 10 science labs, 22 academic classrooms, a learning center, library, two multimedia labs, a counseling center and a cafeteria.
Completion is scheduled for summer 2002. The school will remain open during the entire construction period.
