Council Names Ray Baker 'Person of the Year'

DENVER-A volunteer on efforts ranging from sports stadiums to local sports teams, Gold Crown Management's Ray Baker draws an ailing Gov. Bill Owens to a University of Colorado Real Estate Council awards ceremony.

DENVER-Ray Baker got a standing ovation from 300 commercial real estate leaders when Gov. Bill Owens gave him the ”2002 Person of the Year” award from the University of Colorado Real Estate Council. Baker’s firm, Gold Crown Management, manages apartment units throughout the metropolitan area.

Baker also serves as the chairman of the metropolitan districts that built Coors Filed and Invesco Field at Mile High.

Baker also created a foundation that is raising money to build a large athletic facility in Lakewood for youths. The foundation has sponsored 20,000 children, many of them from at-risk family environments, with the idea of building their confidence and leadership abilities through sports.
