ST. PAUL, MN-A new $58-million, 300,000-sf Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center is going up here. Ramsey County commissioners hired Wold Architects ofSt. Paul to design the new jail and hired St. Paul-based McGough Construction Co. as general contractor.

Schadegg Mechanical recently said it has been awarded the mechanical HVAC work for the jail, which is expected to open late in 2003.

The 276-cell jail will be located in an industrial area northeast of Downtown, near theintersection of Interstates 94 and 35E. The complex also will house four courtrooms and administrative offices for the sheriff’s staff.
