$20.3M Revamp Begins on Wharf

NATIONAL CITY, CA-Work is under way on a $20.3 million project to make the city's bay and wharf more accessible to transport ships. The wharf is at the foot of 24th Street and leased by auto importer Pasha Services, which reportedly brought more than 330,000 cars through the area last year.

NATIONAL CITY, CA-This city’s bay and wharf is undergoing $20 million is renovations that is expected to make it more accessible to transport ships.

The National City bay is being dredged and its wharf extended to accommodate the arrival of more cargo, primarily autos and lumber.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by November 2003. Along with the dredging project, the wharf will be extended by more than 1,200 feet. The additional wharf space and water depth will allow the terminal to accommodate more of its primary commodities: autos and lumber.
