MGH's 640,000-SF Ambulatory Building Receives BRA Approval

BOSTON-The Boston Redevelopment Authority approves the development of an Ambulatory Building at Massachusetts General Hospital's main campus here. The project proposal has gone through a number of design changes and involves 640,000 sf of space in two buildings.

BOSTON-The Boston Redevelopment Authority approved the development of an Ambulatory Building at Massachusetts General Hospital’s main campus here. The project involves 640,000 sf of space in two buildings that will be used for ambulatory care and medical offices.

The buildings will be developed in two phases with phase one containing 420,000 sf of space and a 725-space parking garage. The second phase of the project includes the construction of 220,000 sf of space and an underground pedestrian tunnel as well as a pedestrian bridge connecting the two buildings. As part of the development, a number of buildings on the MGH campus will be demolished.
