Brokered through Cassidy & Pinkard, 1615 is reported to have been on the market for $115 million and Jon Halle of Halle Cos. tells GlobeSt.com the price was "somewhere in the $115-million range." Offering 13 floors of space and a six-story, multi-tiered atrium, the building was completed in 1984 and currently has just a minimal tenant vacancy. Among those firms in the building are Weil Gotshal & Manges, APCO Associates, Inc. and Wunder Lily, all of which occupy their own single floor.

"It's in excellent shape," Halle says of the building, so no upgrades are being scheduled. 1615 is one of several structures Halle has purchased in the metropolitan DC area over the last several months. "We went through a big reorganization of our apartment holdings--we sold all of them," he notes. "We phased out of apartments and transitioned into more office and warehouse properties." The primary point of attraction for Halle in this purchase was location. "We wanted a downtown office, that was the main thing," Halle says. "We plan on holding on to it for a while."
