PTO currently occupies leased space in several buildings in Virginia's Crystal City area. The new office location will house PTO employees in an inter-connected five building complex, designed in a "U" formation. There will also be two aboveground parking structures to accommodate 3,500 vehicles.

PTO will lease the space from LCOR in what will be the largest lease the GSA has ever signed in its history. When the GSA approved the lease in 2000, assistant regional administrator for public buildings service Tony Costa said, "GSA has been working closely with USPTO on consolidation plans for more than a decade now. We are eager to begin the construction phase of this state-of-the-art facility that will improve the work environment for all of USPTO's employees."
