Canada Water Launches

CANNES-The London Borough of Southwark is on the hunt for a development partner for its mixed-use urban quarter on the Surrey Docks peninsula. AMEC and London & Amsterdam are in the frame

CANNES-The redevelopment of the 40-acre Canada Water site on the Surrey Docks peninsula is assured. Launched at the MIPIM property show in Cannes, France, the London Borough of Southwark is looking for a developer–and project surveyor Tim Thompson confirms that developers who have shown an interest in it in the past, including AMEC and London & Amsterdam, are contenders to win it now.

The scheme will comprise a mix of retail, offices, hotel, lesure and community uses. Located across the River Thames from Canary Wharf, it is linked to the rest of London by the new Jubilee Line extension.
