"We opened an office in Charleston because the Carolinas are our primary target for new acquisitions," Lazarus tells GlobeSt.com. "This (move) gives us local representation, which we believe is necessary, because to be successful, you have to know the markets where you do business."
He says the Carolinas offer special growth opportunities for Inland. "You have Food Lion, Bi-Low, Harris Teeter and Lowes Food Stores, which are all strong grocery anchors in the Carolinas and present some excellent buying opportunities."
According to Lazarus, Inland has $150 million in existing and pending acquisitions in North and South Carolina.
