Prior to joining Stellar, Ward was a director with Hanover Financial Company, an opportunity fund based inSouthern California investing as a joint venture equity partner in value-add commercial real estate transactions throughout the United States. Ward is also an actively licensed attorney and actively licensed real estate broker in Washington State.
Stellar is perhaps best known as the founder of both Princess Cruise Lines and Admiralty Cruise Lines, which merged with Royal Caribbean Cruises in 1988. In addition, Stellar has had a long record in the commercial real estate industry that began in the late 1970's with the acquisition of the entire non-automotive real estate portfolio of the Chrysler Corporation.
Throughout the 1990s, Stellar substantially increased its presence in commercial real estate, both in the United States and Western Europe through the acquisition of over 2,700 apartments units, hotels, office buildings and retail centers. In 1994, Stellar also acquired Bygg Vesta, a $150 million diversified property company located in Sweden.
Other Stellar businesses include both direct and joint venture interests in life sciences, medical devices, travel & leisure, proprietary enterprise software, wireless communications and energy management equipment.
