Domain has four stores in the state and another 21 stores spread throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. The chain caters to upscale customers and locates its stores in higher end shopping malls and retail locations. The average store size is 6,000 sf.
According to a released statement, Aga, which develops consumer and commercial kitchen products, was looking for a retail base in the US while Domain was looking to expand to the kitchen environment. Domain was founded in 1986 by Judy George who says in the statement, "Aga and Domain are absolutely compatible brands with compatible customer bases. We see great synergies in our branded product approach, our educational sales process and our life-long marketing programs."
