Jefferson County Resort Suffers Court Setback

BRINNON, WA-A Jefferson County hearing examiner has ruled against plans that would expand the Pleasant Harbor Marina into a 260-acre resort along the shore of Hood Canal.

BRINNON, WA-Jefferson County Hearing Examiner Irv Berteig has sided with members of the Better Brinnon Coalition, who claim a proposed $50-million resort who claimed officials did not take into account all potential environmental threats.

Jefferson County must now conduct an environmental impact study before it can approve the plan that would allow the resort to be constructed. The county had determined late last year that the proposal likely wouldn’t be environmentally destructive.
