The Genesis LA/TPL alliance will provide planning advice, acquisition assistance and design ideas to developers and government officials, as well as jointly raise funds needed to realize the projects.

Preliminary projects being considered include a public garden in a residential project in the north San Fernando Valley, community art and performance spaces in planned downtown artists loft spaces and a greenbelt linking commercial, industrial and residential properties in south Los Angeles. The alliance hopes to complete at least two projects by the end of this year and four to six such projects in subsequent years.

The goal of the joint venture is to create services and jobs in neglected neighborhood. This aim is strengthened when those developments incorporate attractive, inviting and usable public spaces, according to Genesis LA CEO Marci Wiseman.
