USAA, Austin Commercial Win Partnership Plaudits

SAN ANTONIO-A one-million sf expansion at the McDermott Building is one of eight projects accorded the ABC's Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering award. USAA is the building owner and Austin Commercial, the project's general contractor.

SAN ANTONIO-A one-million sf expansion project by USAA and Austin Commercial has won recognition from the Associated General Contractors of America. USAA is the building owner and Austin Commercial, the project’s general contractor.

The Marvin M. Black Excellence in Partnering award goes to companies that have worked effectively together on projects through team building, improving communications and resolving conflicts. The USAA project was one of eight projects receiving the award this year.

San Antonio-based USAA is a nationwide insurance company selling mainly to members of the military and their families. The McDermott building, in northwest San Antonio, houses USAA’s corporate offices as well as those of its central and northeast regions, as well as banking, investment, and life insurance services.
