DEXTER, MI-The village has extended a time frame for developer Blackhawk Development Corp. to build a $150-million residential-office-retail project after a deadline was missed. The project being built by Joe Bonar is supposed to include more than 260 single-family homes and 125 attached condominiums, as well as 70,000 sf of office space and more than 100,000 sf of retail.

All of this is supposed to be built on 110 acres in south Dexter.

The problem is, says Village Manager Donna Eureste, is Bonar had five years to finish the project, and he was supposed to finish it last year. The village council recently extended his development rights for six months.
