The project is in walking distance of Downtown Minneapolis.
"Grant Park is a unique new concept in Downtown, city-smart living in Minneapolis," says Tom Dillon, senior project manager for APEX Asset Management Corp,, the Minneapolis-based co-developer of the project with Minnetonka, MN-based Opus Northwest.
The development offers several different ways to own their own home at Grant Park -- from high-rise condominiums to two-level, rowhouse-style "City Homes" to more traditional town homes, Dillon says.
Grant Park is located on a parcel of land bordered by South 10th Street, Portland Avenue, East Grant Street and Fifth Avenue South, slightly east of the I-35W/Fifth Avenue exit ramp.
"We believe Grant Park has a great location with easy access to both Downtown and the metro freeway system, outstanding architectural design, pricing that will appeal to mid-market and above buyers, and some breathtakingly beautiful views of the Minneapolisskyline," says Tom Lund, director of real estate development at Opus Northwest.
Grant Park will add owner-occupied housing to one of the city's oldest residential neighborhoods – Elliot Park.
Individual homes at Grant Park are priced from the mid-$170,000 range on up to spacious luxury units. Construction is scheduled to begin on the tower and first phase of the townhome development this summer.
Completion and occupancy of the City Homes is planned for summer 2003; Tower condominium residences may be available for occupancy in early 2004.
Designed as a semi-private urban community in itself, Grant Park is expected to blend architecturally with both Downtown Minneapolis to the west and north, and the Elliot Park neighborhood to the east and south. Opus Northwest is the development's general contractor and architect of record. Additional project architecture and design assistance is provided by Humphreys and Partners of Dallas, which specialize in multifamily design throughout the country. Interior design and homeowner build-outs are provided by Edward R. James Partners, L.L.C. of Chicago. Garrison Partners Consulting of Chicago provides marketing support.
