On Monday, Golden, an 11-year Studley staffer who served as senior vice president and branch manager of the Atlanta office, turned in his resignation, Stephen Goldstein, senior vice president in the Washington, DC office of Studley tells GlobeSt.com. Golden also stepped down from his post on the executive committee of the firm's board of directors.
Sanders and Duffy quit after Golden's resignation. "They were a team and did all of their business together," says Goldstein, a 30-year veteran of the company.
According to Goldstein, Golden left because of a potential leadership change at Studley. "Chairman and CEO Julien J. Studley has been working with the company on a leadership transition for a number of years," Goldstein tells GlobeSt.com. Studley will be 76 this year.
Currently, Jacque Ducharme, who serves as president in the firm's headquarters office, would be next in line if a leadership change occurs. Spokespeople at Studley's Manhattan headquarters would not speak on the record concerning a possible top-tier shift.
Published reports indicate that Golden is considering opportunities at the Atlanta office of Newmark & Co., Insignia/ESG, among others. Goldstein, who is serving as the interim leader in the Atlanta office, says he has received several calls from undisclosed candidates to fill Golden's position. Golden, Duffy and Sanders couldn't be reached at GlobeSt.com's publication deadline.
Formed in 1954 by Julien J. Studley, the company has branch offices in Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Houston; Los Angeles; New Jersey; Orange County, CA; San Francisco; and Washington, DC staffed by 500 employees.
