City leaders and the Downtown Business Association considered a preliminary site plan by the developer, James Crone & Associates, for the 66,000-sf complex on Tuesday. The city has been without a movie theater for more than a year.
Crone & Associates has been in negotiations with Oakland-based Signature Theaters, but wants the city to help pay for the $11.5 million project. The complex would include restaurants and a stadium-style theater.
The developer want the city to help finance a $2 million parking structure, install a traffic signal on Orange Avenue at Valley Parkway, waive all city fees and put the project on the city's fast track for processing.
The project would be called Signature Pavilion. The city will study the proposal before agreeing to provide financial incentives, city officials say.
