GlobeSt.com UPDATE: Osceola Deadline Moved To April 15

ORLANDO-Osceola County is changing the June 1 deadline and asking developers to submit letters of intent a little earlier than previously scheduled on the planned $100 million, 486,300-sf project.

ORLANDO-Trying to get a quicker idea of which developers might be interested in constructing a $100 million, 486,300-sf convention center and a 700-room hotel near Walt Disney World, Osceola County officials are changing the deadline for the second time in weeks on letters-of-intent submissions.

The new deadline is April 15, pushed ahead from June 1. The original deadline was April 1.

In a Web-site announcement, Osceola purchasing manager Ray Palma says the project will need 3,000 parking spaces in the first phase and an additional 1,500 spaces in the second phase, probably in 10 years.
