BROOMFIELD, CO-The ailing telecommunications giant Level 3 Communications Inc. admits it is trying to sell or lease 340,000 sf of office space. In the past, the Broomfield-based company would say it does not comment on specific real estate holdings, other than to say it is continuously re-evaluating the property it owns and leases.

But in its recent 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission it admits it is trying to unload south of Colorado 128. The company has cuts its Colorado work force almost in half during the past year, and doesn’t need the space.

At one point, Level 3 planned to build nearly 2 million sf in 10 buildings.
