Economic Development Boot Camps Launched

DETROIT-Four regional forums are planned by Michigan Economic Development Corp. to teach community leaders the basics of good community building. Top MEDC executives will be the instructors.

DETROIT-The Michigan Economic Development Corp. has kicked off the secondround of Local Official Academies. The academies serve as an intensive “boot camp” to educate local officials about effective state and local economic development strategies.

The progressive goal of the academies is to target community leaders who will most likely be the future leaders of Michigan.

Four academies are planned at locations across the state: April 2 at Kalamazoo Valley Community College M-TEC; April 9 at Oakland Community College M-TEC in Auburn Hills; April 17 at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant; and April 24 at Southgate Holiday Inn.
