Tejon Ranch is 270,000 acres located one hour north of Los Angeles, adjacent Interstate 5 in Kern County. According to the Kern Economic Development Corporation, IKEA, Target, Hefty and Sears all have selected Kern County for their West Coast regional distribution centers in recent years. Each of these facilities is in excess of 1 million sf.

The Daisytek lease is for half of a 650,909-sf warehouse in the 350-acre Tejon Industrial Complex. Tejon Ranch Co. has built out 165 acres of the complex in the past three years. The first tenant of the complex was the 51-acre Petro Travel Plaza, which is one of the largest truck/travel plazas of its kind in California.

Daisytek selected the Tejon Industrial Complex to anchor its Western United States supply chain and is in the process of hiring initial employees from the local area to operate its facility. Daisytek distributes products for the likes of Cannon, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Sony, Xerox, Avery and Fellowes. The company's presence will add an estimated $55 million to the local economy over the next five years, according to Al Gobar of Gobar & Associates, an economic forecasting company.
