$45M Airport Garage Opens

DULLES, VA-Forty-year old Washington Dulles International Airport–the nation’s first airport built specifically to accommodate jets–finally gets its own garage with the recent opening of the airport’s new $45-million parking structure. The new development is the first phase of a $95-million project that includes a second garage, which is scheduled to debut this August.

The entire two-part project is the first installment of Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority’s (MWAA) Dulles Development program, a massive $3.4 billion endeavor. “This is a day we’ve all been looking forward to, when our customers can have convenient daily parking in a garage near the Terminal,” MWAA president and CEO James A. Wilding said at the dedication ceremony. “And it’s just the beginning for improved parking services. We will open a second garage later this summer.”
