$60M Dover Downs Hotel Debuts

DOVER, DE-The $60-million Dover Downs Hotel and Conference Center–developed by the owner of neighboring Dover Downs Slots casino complex and Dover Downs International Speedway harness racing center–has officially opened. Construction on the 232-room hotel, of which a portion opened in February, and 18,000-sf Rollins Center conference facility got under way back in October of 2000.

“The state of Delaware and the capital city is indeed very proud of this beautiful hotel entertainment center,” Dover Mayor James L. Hutchison said during the ceremony. “And let me assure you, it will go a long way in enhancing the economic development for other hotels up and down the state of Delaware. It’s a win-win for every single person.” There is over 1,600 sf of meeting space, as well as nearly 16,500 sf of ballroom space.
