Totaling 1.25 million sf, the 41-story granite office tower located at 5555 San Felipe was judged not only on its modern structure, but also on mechanical operations, air handling, amenities, elevators, tenant relations programs, training for building personnel, facilities for disabled persons, parking areas, roof and building plans and budget.

In 1993, Marathon Oil Tower was accorded a TOBY under Cushman & Wakefield portfolio manager Chuck Moore. Currently, the property is managed by Mark Nicholson of Cushman & Wakefield.

Created in 1985, the TOBY award is recognized as the most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in commercial real estate. Later this month, the tower will compete for the regional TOBY award against other local award winners from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
