AUA's decision to build comes after years of expanding at its current location in Baltimore. When the new building is complete, AUA will put its 55,000-sf home of 50 years at 1120 North Charles St. on the market. The company will relocate its Charles Street employees, as well as its Houston, TX-based workers to the new location. The Staubach Company is serving as AUA's representative and is handling issues pertaining to the new construction, leasing to affiliate organizations in the new space, as well as the disposition of the Baltimore building.
Located on Corporate Boulevard, the 121-acre Hock Business Park made the Baltimore region's 1999 list of the largest commercial real estate deals when it sold for $13.6 million. Current park tenants include telecommunications company Ciena, as well as RAG American Coal Holding, Inc.
