AUA to Break Ground on $10 Million Headquarters

LINTHICUM, MD-The American Urological Association Education & Research Inc. (AUA) will break ground April 9 on what will be its new 84,000-sf headquarters in Anne Arundel County’s Hock Business Park. The organization will spend $10 million to construct the building and expects it to be ready for move-in activity in 2004.

AUA’s decision to build comes after years of expanding at its current location in Baltimore. When the new building is complete, AUA will put its 55,000-sf home of 50 years at 1120 North Charles St. on the market. The company will relocate its Charles Street employees, as well as its Houston, TX-based workers to the new location. The Staubach Company is serving as AUA’s representative and is handling issues pertaining to the new construction, leasing to affiliate organizations in the new space, as well as the disposition of the Baltimore building.
