James Cate, one of Studley's former brokers, has been tapped to lead the capital services division for Newmark. Bert Sanders and Patrick Duffy, also former Studley brokers, will direct the corporate services side.
"I will be heading up the capital services division for all of the Sunbelt states," Cate tells GlobeSt.com, "and I will be working directly with Jimmy (Kuhn) on some national initiatives."
Kuhn is the president of Newmark. "We are really filling in a geographic void for Newmark," Cate says of his new team.
Cate also hopes to step up Newmark's sale/leaseback efforts throughout the Southeast.
He tells GlobeSt.com the following Studley brokers are now on board in its office at 3353 Peachtree Rd.: Kay Davis, Marty Pinover, Ed Kircher, David Todd, Monty Harris, David Caldwell and Cameron Kennedy. In addition, Newmark plans to hire five support staff for a 20-person office, Cate says.
In a related matter, top producer Neal Golden left Studley on March 25 but has not made any official announcement about where he plans to work.
There were rumors that Golden was heading to Equis Corp. in Chicago. Michael Silver, president of Equis, tells GlobeSt.com that Equis made Golden an offer but declined further comment.
