Historically, the company's threshold for building a Hampton Inn property was a minimum of 65 rooms. Under the new concept being developed for this latest Hampton Inn, it's now 58 rooms, but maintaining the same services, look and feel of the Hampton Inn product.
"We announced the design of our smaller hotel prototype last July and have had very strong response from developers wanting to build in rural or tertiary areas that were previously unable to support a traditional Hampton Inn," said Phil Cordell, Hampton's senior vice president of brand management. He says the new concept reduces costs and construction time for developers.
Located along Interstate 15 between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, the new Inn will feature six large studio suites, 52 guest rooms, an indoor pool, an exercise room, breakfast seating area and a 1,000 sf meeting room area.
"We are excited to introduce this Hampton Inn hotel, the industry's first mid-priced hotel concept under 60 rooms, to the Cedar City area," said Barry Church, principal correspondent for the Church Family Trust which will own and operate the hotel under a licensing agreement with Promus Hotels Inc., a franchise of Hilton Hotels Corp.
