CEDAR CITY, UT-Hampton, known for its mid-priced rooms under the Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites brands, has broken ground on a new smaller-scale property that the company is calling a breakthrough design.

Historically, the company’s threshold for building a Hampton Inn property was a minimum of 65 rooms. Under the new concept being developed for this latest Hampton Inn, it’s now 58 rooms, but maintaining the same services, look and feel of the Hampton Inn product.

“We announced the design of our smaller hotel prototype last July and have had very strong response from developers wanting to build in rural or tertiary areas that were previously unable to support a traditional Hampton Inn,” said Phil Cordell, Hampton’s senior vice president of brand management. He says the new concept reduces costs and construction time for developers.
