The Mondavis contributed $10 million to the project, which will cost an estimated $53 million. The project consists of a 2,200-car parking garage and overflow lot and a main concert hall, which rises 100 feet above the 200-acre site. The site is located on the north side of Interstate 80 near the University of California, Davis.

The Mondavi Center will feature two performance venues, the main Barbara K. and W. Turrentine Jackson Hall and the Studio Theater, which will seat a total of 2050 people.

Some additional projects are planned for the site, including a hotel-conference center, two restaurants, administrative buildings and a gallery.
